ABOUT ME

Christopher Louie is a Mechanical Engineering student studying at the University of Waterloo. He is passionate about engineering and design. See samples below of his work as well as some of his wacky ideas. Christopher enjoys playing sports like volleyball and going for bike rides to clear his mind. You will also find him playing foosball or jamming at a keyboard or saxophone learning the latest pop songs. To end off his day, Christopher looks forward to reading up on the latest technologies on the Internet and in magazines ... a place where he would one day like to see his own inventions published.

SCISSOR LIFT

This was a first year project. It was conceived from a brainstorming session, then conceptualized in a series of hand drawn sketches, fined tuned in AutoCad, 3D printed, and finally assembled by hand.

MOBILE DEVICE STAND

This was a first year project. It is a iPhone and iPad stand. It was designed in SOLIDWORKS and then 3D printed. It can hold a device in a multitude of positions.

LOUD SPEAKER

This is a working loud speaker that was designed and developed using self-wounded copper wires, cardboard material, and duct tape.

My inspirations for wanting to become an engineer ... I have been fortunate to be able to explore the world and see and feel things which I could not experience from books or websites alone.
